Teaching/Work Experience
2005 – Youth of the Peaks Independent Youth Media Program, Flagstaff, Arizona. Program organizer and educator, writer and researched. Taught bi-weekly night classes on writing and film production to a group of 12-15 Navajo middle schoolers.
2005 – Community Library Program, Flagstaff, Arizona. Co-founded and ran this program out of the Hive Community Center, aimed at improving community literacy skills. Organized monthly writing workshops.
2003-2006 – Mentored by Marcia Tucker.
2006-2009 – CUNY BA Program undergraduate. Volunteer work in Brooklyn College Women’s Center. I taught monthly classes on the subject of women’s and children’s self-publishing, and independent film production. Through my degree program, I wrote, directed and produced three film shorts, 2 of which have screened in New York, Germany, Australia and England through VideoKills Festival.
Summer 2006 – Pennsylvania Governor’s School of the Arts. Student teacher and mentor. 5 week-summer program teaching writing, filmmaking, painting and drawing to high school 10th graders. Served as resource person for 12 10th graders in PGSA’s dormitories.
2009-2010 – Snakemonkey Animation Studios, New York, New York. Participated in writing, animating, and assistant directing animated web-TV and film shorts aimed at ages 6-14. Trained new employees on editing equipment.
2009-2011– Blanks NYC, Brooklyn, New York. Video artist, I screen my new work at our regular showings and events.
Spring 2010 – Rival Management, New York. Fashion model. I have worked in Italy, London and New York, and kept video journals and poetry notebooks as I traveled.
2010-11 – Bayard Studios, New York. I work on company projects while the Brooklyn-based company.
